The European versions of the original Focus came equipped with the 1.6-liter Ford FYDA, FYDB, FYDC, or 1.6 Zetec SE engine, which was manufactured between 1998 and 2004. The Fiesta model has this power unit under its FYJA and FYJB indices.

Disadvantages of the FYDA/FYDB/FYDC engine
Fuel quality is very important to the power unit; inadequate fuel causes spark plugs and individual ignition coils to fail quickly.
Periodic traction failures are typically caused by the fuel pump or its filters;
Since there are no hydraulic lifters here, you must adjust the valves every 90,000 kilometers. The timing belt resource is typically less than 100,000 kilometers, and when it breaks, the valve bends.
