Only the most expensive version of the Mondeo model with the ST220 index was equipped with the 3.0-liter Ford MEBA or 3.0 Duratec V6 ST engine, which was manufactured between 2002 and 2007. This power unit is widely used because of the machine’s large circulation.

The Duratec V6 line also includes internal combustion engines: SEA, SGA, LCBD and REBA.
The engine was installed on:
- Ford Mondeo ST220 Mk3 in 2002 – 2007.

Disadvantages of the MEBA engine
Candles and their coils quickly deteriorate from this motor’s dislike of bad fuel; the fuel filter becomes clogged and the fuel pump fails as a result;
An unreliable pump is typically the primary cause of engine overheating;
Grease starts to seep out of every seal due to crankcase ventilation contamination;
The lifespan of hydraulic tensioners and hydraulic compensators is greatly shortened by low-quality oil.
