All versions of the fourth generation Mondeo were equipped with the 2.5-liter Ford HUBA turbo engine, which was manufactured at a plant in Sweden between 2007 and 2010, but only prior to restyling. Under the B5254T3 index, this power unit is basically comparable to the Volvo engine.

Disadvantages of the HUBA engine
The phase control system is the subject of the majority of complaints on specialized forums;
Oil consumption, which is typically caused by clogged crankcase ventilation, comes in second.
Additionally, the timing belt does not always run the necessary 120,000 km, and when it breaks, the valve bends; a pump, fuel pump, or turbine may already need maintenance after 100,000 km; and owners frequently find leaks in the front camshaft oil seals.
