Engine Ford SIDA

Built between 2007 and 2011, the 1.6-liter Ford SIDA or 1.6 Duratec Ti-VCT 115 horsepower engine was mounted on a redesigned second generation of the well-liked Focus model and C-Max. The only thing that sets this unit apart from a comparable HXDA motor is its open cooling jacket.

Disadvantages of the SIDA engine

Owners frequently experienced phase regulator failures in the early years of production; aside from that, it is a dependable device, but it requires high-quality fuel; poor gasoline causes candles to break easily and requires a costly gas pump;
Oil frequently leaks from the crankshaft seals and beneath the valve cover in certain Duratec models that lack piston grooves and bend the valve with a broken belt.
