Three strong and affordable engines—315 kW (428 HP), 295 kW (401 HP), and 260 kW (354 HP)—are available in the 12-liter OM 457 engine series. The OM457LA engine is compliant with EURO emission class five. With a motor life of up to one million kilometers, it strikes an excellent balance between high power and fuel efficiency.
High fuel efficiency is achieved by achieving maximum torque at low revs, which corresponds to low specific engine consumption. Fuel can be injected at a higher pressure thanks to electronically controlled injectors, which improves combustion efficiency.
