Engine Ford YVDA

Only the most expensive version of the Focus 3 model with the RS index was equipped with the 2.3-liter Ford YVDA turbo engine, also known as the 2.3 EcoBoost 350 SCTI, which was assembled between 2016 and 2018. The Explorer SUV and the Mustang coupe are equipped with a less forced version of this unit.

Disadvantages of the YVDA engine

Overheating is the most well-known issue with power units in this line;
Early on, the engine had a non-original cylinder head gasket that was frequently punctured;
Additionally, they lament the frequent malfunctions of the fuel pressure and turbine sensor on specialized forums;
This engine’s adsorber valve and oil separator are also weak points.
