Medium-duty vehicles are powered by the Mercedes OM427 family of engines, which are strong and dependable. These motors are found in some other manufacturers’ equipment as well as Mercedes’ own trucks. First and foremost, these units are valued for their dependability and robustness.

With regular maintenance and adherence to standard operating conditions, OM427 diesel engines have a maximum service life of two million kilometers.
The Mercedes OM 427 engine series is an 11.9-liter, six-cylinder in-line engine. 241 horsepower (177 kW) is the maximum power. A version of the engine has been manufactured since 1985 that can produce up to 280 horsepower (206 kW) using the same parts and specifications. Fuel pumps and injectors from Bosch, another German manufacturer, are used in these engines as well as the other two series in the family. Because the cylinders are arranged in a single row, maintenance and repairs are made easier.
