Engine Ford CJBA/CJBB

The third generation of the highly popular Mondeo model was equipped with the 2.0-liter Ford CJBA/CJBB or 2.0 Duratec HE engine, which was manufactured between 2000 and 2007. The Mazda MZR LF-DE power unit is essentially what this motor is.

Disadvantages of the CJBA/CJBB engine

Mondeo owners are typically worried about ignition system component failures; an expensive gasoline pump frequently fails due to low-quality fuel;
Cases of intake manifold flaps falling into cylinders are described in specialized forums;
Regularly tightening the bolts will prevent leaks from beneath the valve cover;
The timing chain typically needs to be replaced after 200–250 thousand kilometers.
