Engine Ford AOWA

The popular Galaxy minivan’s second generation and the comparable S-MAX were equipped with a 2.0 liter Ford AOWA engine, also known as a 2.0 Duratec HE 145 horsepower engine, which was manufactured between 2006 and 2015. This engine was basically the same as the popular Mazda LF-DE engine.

Disadvantages of the AOWA engine

The oil burner is a well-known engine issue because of oil scraper rings; additionally, the dampers used to alter the intake manifold’s geometry frequently jam here;
Low-quality fuel frequently causes the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator to malfunction;
The timing chain and phase regulator might already need to be replaced after 200,000 kilometers;
Additionally, the pipes of the crankcase ventilation system burst and the crankshaft rear oil seal frequently flows here.
